We picked the Casita and drove to Lake Charles for the Spring Fling
campout. This is the second time we have been to this rally. The first rally was here at Sam Houston Jones
State Park in 2009.
After arriving and setting up we visited with friends. At night we had a campfire.
Casita Trip To Louisiana
April 18, 2018 - May 1, 2018
4/20/2018 - Lake Charles, LA
This morning one of the campers made pancakes
for everyone at their site. Then the men played washers. At night we had a pot luck dinner.
4/21/18 - Lake Charles, LA
Today another camper made biscuits and gravy for
everyone. A few of us went back to
Crying Eagle Brewery for lunch. At
night we ate boiled crawfish and sat around the campfire again.
4/22/18 - Breaux Bridge, LA
We left Sam Houston Jones State Park and drove
to Poche’s Fish Camp RV in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. We went to Bayou Tech Brewing and to Prejean’s for supper.
4/23/18 - Breaux Bridge, LA
This morning we walked around the lakes at
camp. We went to Poche’s Meat Market
for lunch then to Parish Brewing. When we got back to camp we joined a group of retired military campers who were having a flag burning ceremony for worn out U.S. flags.
4/24/18 - Breaux Bridge, LA
Today we drove to Avery Island, Louisiana. This is the home of Tabasco. We toured the museum and Tabasco
factory. Jim and I sampled all of the
Tabasco items for sale and bought a few to take home. Avery Island also has a Jungle Gardens that you can tour. Jim and I opted to walk the tour route
instead of driving. After leaving Avery
Island we went back to Parish Brewing.
Then we had supper at Lecafe, a seafood restaurant.
